NO MORE EPIC FAILS!

"Failure is a few errors in judgement repeated everyday
and
Success is a few simple disciplines practiced everyday."

I heard this on a talk by John Rohn that I am listening to it little by little.

What a Powerful thought... I am committing a few errors everyday day which is leading to an unhappy life . Being very lazy, I was wondering if there is some kind of way to find out what my errors of thinking are without actually thinking about it. Makes sense? But inner work is just that, work. So I begun to do some inner work outs. I found some errors and some assumptions that I am making that I would like to amend.

Find the errors in your judgement.

So I want to list three errors in my judgement and then three errors in my assumptions.

Errors in my judgment:
1) I believe that being late has no consequence.
2) I believe I do not have to work at things I am already good at.
3) I believe I will eventually just get into better shape without working at it.

Errors in my assumption:
1) People know my intent and actions
2) Actions that I take are not important if people do not notice them, good or bad.
3) People can handle my intensity.

Now looking at change seems much more manageable if I look at it as "few" errors as opposed to a massive lifestyle that has to happen. Some people can do that and so far I am not one of those people. I can deal with fixing few errors. That I can do.

Start to change by amending your errors.

So where do I begin? Well since I made a list I will start at number one. I think many of my errors could be corrected by waking up earlier. It is a discipline I could practice that would start my day by not rushing out of my house and get rid of feeling bad for not showing up on time as well as dealing with that shame which usually turns to anger. One error to one amendment. That is very manageable.

Day 3- without playing video games has been a success!

You Are The Average...

Day 2

This is a quote from Jim Rohn

I was listening to a podcast this morning and when I heard this I dropped my jaw. Things started to click in place. I can be confrontational and many of the people who I spend my time with do not challenge me to change.

Our Patterns Make Us Comfortable

We all fall into patterns where we become comfortable. A place where we can become lethargic and stagnant not a place where I can go to become strengthen. The word comfort comes from the root words which mean "to STRENGTHEN WITH." Another way to understand it is "to fortify something with another." Now it has become to mean something like this:

Yes I am an Anti-Snuggite! There I said it!

I have been trying to fill in my ex-videogame time with things that will make me better. I figure if I keep trying and keep taking the chance something will have to stick. Jim Rohn talks about the Law of Averages by using the Parable of the Sower. He says that finally at the end of the story the excellent seed will fall on good soil (and it ALWAYS will if you keep sowing.) This is the talk where he explains the parable of the sower and I hope it will inspire anyone!

Day 2 of no games has been successful BTW!

To Be Different Do Something Different

So change is difficult.

I spent the other day playing a game called Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. It is a gorgeous game with an amazing story that tosses you in an immense world. After playing this game for a whole day I was really sad. I could have done so much with my day. Spent time with my dad, go out, work on some personal development and instead I just wasted another day; I now have one day less.

One day less.

I decided that if I was going to do something to change I need to be accountable somehow. I give myself a 30 day challenge where I won't play video games. I want to report in everyday here and publicly say if I did or did not follow it. I need to do this. I need positive change and I need to cut out something very negative for me.

So here is to change and here is something to inspire you. It inspired me so much!

her

See this movie.

I know I haven't written in a while and I am still working on how come that is. Lately I have been feeling inspired and I have decided to write again. This movie, her, has truly inspired me. Simply put a man falls in love with his Artificially Intelligent Operating System and is healed and changed by love.

See this movie.

It was the saddest and most beautiful movie I have seen. I felt it described where I am at in life and the struggle that I, and others, face. The disconnect because of social media and the general flakiness that is current in my generation, and following, has caused us to struggle for basic human needs.

It is about wanting to make a real connection, wanting to be loved and wanting to be alive.

I feel that I have to of the three right now and that wanting to be alive is the hardest of the three for me. I believe it comes from mainly undoing so many bad habits and patterns that block growth. This movie has inspired me to keep fighting against that horrible pattern for stunted growth. I hope this may inspire many of to be changed and transformed by love no matter where we find it.

I need to work on this!

Life's Better on Purpose Schedule Week 5

Life's Better on Purpose Schedule Week 5

I am in awe of how different my life has become in the last month. I have learned so much about myself, gained knowledge in ares that I never thought was possible, I have grown and repaired friendships that have been wounded for years, have a larger and deeper sense of beauty and have grown closer to God.

I think I am on to something here.

"By their fruits you will know them..." and so far the fruit has been so much better than I expected. My life makes sense and I am no longer asking "what to I want in life?" but now I am asking, "how can I get what I want in life?" AND THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH ASKING THAT QUESTION!

I always felt, deep down, I couldn't be honest with what I want out of life or that what I want was evil or "not from God." I was thinking as if we do not play an active role in Divine Providence. Phooey! I didn't realize how small my God was.

So change is really happening and I no longer feel restless and I no longer feel that I am wandering around aimlessly like a zombie.

Life's Better on Purpose Schedule Week 4

I can't tell you enough how much my life is changing for the better ever since I have been doing this blog. Things are starting to make sense and I see people growing from just me living my life this way.

Ideally I want to inspire someone to make a positive change in their life, whether it is something simple like learning something they always wanted to do or something profound like a change in one's way of thinking.

The biggest change I am learning is that I have imposed so many limitations on myself and I can remove those limitations at any moment.

Imagine what you could do if you just thought differently...
